The Circle & The Square
Two Movements
The circle and the square suggest a simple tension between the self and the world.
The Circle is selfhood.
An inward movement toward the center — reflection, awareness, and the cultivation of one's inner life.
The Square is action.
A movement outward — the exercise of freedom through meaningful engagement with the world.
When selfhood and action are held in balance, authenticity can emerge.
Reflection without action becomes withdrawal.
Action without reflection becomes imitation.
When the inward and outward movements align, personality emerges as something genuine.
From this alignment comes a sense of joy.
"This life is worth living, we can say, since it is what we make it."
— William James
